A window into the time

Last month a Croatian president announced that he has enough of the president ship and had quit the »job«… unusual? Well yes for a present time mentality but same happened in the 4th century when a Roma emperor Gaius Aurelius Valerius Diocletianus decided that he wants to retire and enjoy the life without bothering with the state affairs. And he really did… he had moved to Spalatum – present Split in Dalmatia (Croatia). Remains of his palace there are still remarkable and declared as a World heritage (UNESCO).

I was documenting destinations from the UNESCO heritage list in that area and found a window into the time. You don’t believe? Here is a proof!! ( ;) )
